Job Summary
The basic purpose of this position is to provide exceptional customer service through personal contact with ministry partners and members using sound judgment analyzing, understanding and processing an extensive range of inquiries and transactions. Specialists must ensure compliance with IRS regulations and DOL requirements administering multiple plans such as 403(b) and 401(k) defined contributions, defined benefits, and approximately 400 plus variations of adoption agreements. The specialist in this position must understand the details of a complex recordkeeping system and the multiple software applications needed to maintain the integrity and personal and financial data for ministry partners and members.
What You'll Do:
Process high-impact financial transactions (e.g., withdrawals, loans, rollovers, annuities, installments, estimates, transfers, and exchanges) in compliance with plan provisions and IRS regulations, including transactions for prominent members.
Analyze, research, and respond to member inquiries, ensuring documentation and confidentiality are maintained across multiple software programs.
Stay current with IRS regulations and DOL requirements, ensuring compliance with retirement procedures and policies.
Provide proactive policy administration, using sound judgment to resolve complex issues and ensure quality control.
Develop proficiency with GuideStone systems and act as a resource for team members.
Complete special projects and assist with system updates, testing, and research as needed.
What You'll Need:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Completion of Retirement Account Specialist training; CEBS, CRPC, or similar certification preferred.
Proficient in MS Office and ability to learn GuideStone systems.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to research, audit, and process complex transactions and corrections.
Knowledge of retirement plans, IRAs, and tax reporting.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
Strong decision-making and customer service skills, with an ability to resolve member issues effectively.
