Orphan Outreach is a Christian non-profit serving orphaned and vulnerable children in Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, and Latin America. Our mission is to glorify Jesus Christ by having a significant, long-term impact on orphaned and vulnerable children, equipping each child for a fulfilling, independent Christian life in their community.

BASIC FUNCTION:

Orphan Outreach is seeking an individual to provide administrative support to the Missions department. The Missions Assistant will assist in the preparation and organization of mission trips and other duties as assigned.

RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS:

  • Handle administrative details of mission trips.
  • Support the overall trip planning process before, during and after trips.
  • Manage trip participant accounts and required documentation on the Missions Admin database.
  • Maintain digital paperwork to create travel documents for trip leaders and teams.
  • Arrange mission trip air travel and visas for trip participants and teams.
  • Before and after trips, assist with trip participant engagement to encourage long-term involvement.
  • Coordinate vision trips in coordination with Orphan Outreach staff.
  • Provide support for business/programs travel when needed.
  • Collaborate with programs on humanitarian aid and program needs that teams can support and provide.
  • Maintain and respond to Missions Inbox, voicemail, and General Inbox and communicate with interests in volunteering and missions.
  • Lead trips as needed.
  • Assist with other Missions’ functions at the Orphan Outreach office.

Servant Leadership

  • Assist Missions staff in meeting deadlines for various tasks and projects as required.
  • Participate in staff meetings, church events and other opportunities.
  • This position may require both domestic and international travel.
  • Other duties as assigned to enhance the ministry of Orphan Outreach.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Must be a committed Christian; adhere to Christian principles and values, both personally and professionally.
  • Must speak, read and write English proficiently.
  • Requires ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing and be understood in face-to-face interactions; to speak in front of groups; and to articulate with accuracy while speaking on the phone.
  • Requires ability to carry out detailed oral and written instructions, answer phones, return phone calls and communicate in situations with some background noise.
  • Requires ability to organize complex tasks and plans and to be detail oriented; effective ability to create plans.
  • Requires ability to have strong interpersonal skills; establish and maintain effective professional working relationships with staff, applicants, churches and outside agencies/organizations.
  • Requires ability to work under pressure and remain flexible as priorities change.
  • Requires ability to work under minimal supervision; must be self-motivated and able to motivate others.
  • Requires ability to exercise excellent professional judgment and maintain confidentiality.
  • Must exhibit self-confident behaviors, secure with self and willing to give credit to others.
  • Experience in overseas travel and has an understanding of the details and logistics involved in international travel.
  • Requires high level of proficiency with personal computers (Mac preferred) and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Advanced working knowledge of Mac Environment
  • Able to use and learn new technologies
